How is Pogoplug different than other "cloud" solutions I've been reading about?

So am I uploading my files to a 3rd party?

How much does this cost?

We offer two versions of Pogoplug Software. The free version lets you stream photos and access all the files stored on your computer. Then Pogoplug Premium lets you stream music and movies. There is a one-time $29 fee for the premium software, with no subscriptions or additional costs. And you can install the premium version on as many computers as you want.
